Eaton Elementary named 3rd in the State

On May 16, 2012, Eaton Elementary was named #3 in the state in instructional effectiveness as based on test score gains 2007-2011. This ranking was based on information from 752 K-5 schools. This link will show you how all 752 schools ranked. Congratulations to the staff and students at Eaton for their hard work and tremendous effort in this accomplishment!

Walk of Fame and Stepping Stones

4th grade Walk of Fame will be Monday, May 21st at 1:45. This is a time that the entire school celebrates our graduating 4th graders.  Please help us by creating a “stepping stone “,  to be hung in the halls of Eaton Elementary, telling the world how proud and loved your favorite 4th graders are to you.

Jeopardy Grand Winners

2nd grade: Caden with 9,600 points

3rd grade:  Caleb with 24,800 points

4th grade:  Nic with 52,000 points







Meet the New Principal-

Eaton's New Principal:

As you may have heard, our principal, Mrs. Melanie Amburn, is moving to a new position with Loudon County Schools as the elementary instructional supervisor. Mr. Scott MacKintosh has been serving as principal of Steekee School and is moving to Eaton as the principal for the 2012-2013 school year. Mrs. Ashley Talley, our current vice principal, will remain in that position.

People Magazine Teacher of the Year Contest

Favorite teachers are remembered for a lifetime. PEOPLE magazine wants to highlight those amazing teachers by announcing the first PEOPLE Teacher of the Year Award.

Five educators working in grades K-12, who are making a difference in their students' lives, will be awarded a $5,000 prize, with support from our sponsor Kellogg's Frosted Mini-Wheats cereal.

Starting today, you can download the application here and nominate their favorite teacher. Applications will be accepted through July 2, and the winners will be determined by PEOPLE's editors and an independent panel of education professionals.
